1. three stars and a sunmay 28, 2012 is philippine flag day. it commemorates the day in 1898 when the flag was first carried into battle of alapan during the philippine revolution. the celebration starts from may 28 until june 12, the philippine independence day. all filipinos are then encouraged to display the philippine flag in all offices, agencies and instruments of government, business establishments, schools and private homes throughout this period provided that they abide the law governing its proper use and display, as mandated by republic act 8491 (the flag and heraldic code of the philippines).

  6. leche flan caramel custard or crème caramel is one of the influences that spain left in our cuisine. it is the filipino version of caramel custard which is almost similar to mexican or spanish flan, the difference being the philippine version uses only egg yolks which gives it a creamier texture, and is steamed as compared to caramel custard which is baked quite often
